Local Walks
We love to get outside on a family walk and blow the cobwebs away - we are spoilt for choice here with amazing local walks across Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion.
01. Ffynone Waterfall, Boncath
This is a lovely little walk - fairly remote and you are rewarded with a lovely waterfall at the end. Some days you will find people wild swimming in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall. We love to take a hot chocolate and sit while the kids splash in the water. If you are feeling brave you can swim here too.
02. Llandysul
You can walk around the park (and visit the play area) or take a walk along the river (from opposite the Paddlers office). There are several cafes in town where you can also stop and get a hot drink or a snack.
03. Pentrecwrt - river and old railway
Just outside of Pentrecwrt, only 5 minutes from our site, is a lovely walk along the river and you can walk through the old milk train tunnel (don't forget to take a torch). There is a rope swing on the route but it can be overgrown so it can be a bit of an adventure.
04. Coed y Foel
These are lovely woods by a stream just outside of town. If the weather has been wet it can get very muddy so take wellies. There is a shorter and longer route and when you head back to site you can pop into Y Porth for a drink - a perfect day!
05. Cenarth Falls
There is a lovely little circular walk, perfect for little legs which leaves from the falls, takes you along the river and then up the hill and circles back into the village. It is fairly short but makes for a nice trip out (there is a cafe in the car park too ......there is a bit of a theme here)!
06. Cilgerran
There is a nice little walk from the riverside car park up to the castle. This is another fairly short one but alongside the river and you are rewarded with the castle at the end so well worth a visit.
07. Coast Path
We are lucky enough to be close to some absolutely gorgeous stretches of the Welsh Coast Path - we would be happy to make some recommendations for your trip and share our favourite spots when you visit us!
08. Brechfa Forest
We are also close to Breachfa Forest which has a range of walks and bike routes - it is a great spot for offroad biking. Let us know what you are looking for and we can make some recommendations (near or far, long or short).
